7 (Sphinx) Commando Battery

Members of 7 (Sphinx) Commando Battery Royal Artillery fire L118 light guns during an exercise at Cape Wrath in Scotland, 2005. One of several batteries within 29 Commando Royal Artillery Regiment (29 CDO RAR, 7 (Sphinx) Commando Battery comprises 3 Fire Support Teams (spotters) and 6 105mm L118 guns. 29 Commando RAR is a Commando-trained element of 3 Commando Brigade (3 CDO BDE). The various batteries within the regiment are the 3 CDO BDE's organic artillery support. They have deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan on multiple tours.
