The Express newspaper has reported that, following the death of Colonel Gaddafi, a detachment from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), which had previously on the trail of the deposed Libyan dictator, has switched to hunting down the remainder of Gaddafi's clan.

The SRR is said to be working with French intelligence operatives from the DGSE (Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure). They are beleived to now be actively engaged in finding Saif al-Islam, Gaddafi's son.

It was previously reported in August that the SRR had joined MI6 and SAS operatives in hunting down Gaddafi, who had gone into hiding following the fall of Tripoli.
