Brigade Reconnaissance Force

photo category: misc
A member of 4 Mechanised Brigade's Brigade Reconnaissance Force (BRF) fires a HMG mounted on a Jackal vehicle during pre-deployment training. BRFs are an elite, company-sized cadre drawn from various elements within the brigade. The Brigade Reconnaissance Force provides ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance) for its parent brigade, a role that frequently requires the unit to operate far ahead of the main force, sometimes for extended periods.
