photo category: elite police
Armed Police with SCO19 approach a 'hijacked' vessel during a security operation on the River Thames, March 2012. The SCO19 officers are being transported in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) piloted by members of the Met's Marine Policing Unit (MPU). The MPU operates a number of RIBS which can be used to transport armed response teams from SCO19 along the Thames River network.

SCO19, recently renamed from CO19, are London's armed response unit . SCO19 will be on standby to respond to any security threats during the 2012 London Olympics.
