Royal Marines from 40 Commando coming ashore on a Kuwaiti beach from a LCU Mk 9 operated by 4 Assault Squadron Royal Marines (4 ASRM), Febuary 2003., during the buildup for Operation Telic.
LCUs can carry a company of Royal Marines (120 men) or 4 trucks or 4 BV 206D ATVs/Land Rovers + trailers. These vessels have a top speed of 9 knots and a maximum range of 200 nautical miles.
