ROYAL MARINES SELECTION

The Royal Marines training regimen is one of, if not the, toughest military selection process in the world. Before the 32 week recruit training takes place, those hoping to become a Royal Marine must undergo a grueling initial selection process.

Eligibility

To attempt to become a Royal Marine, the following requirements apply :

male
ages 16-33
no formal academic qualifications required
British, Irish or Commonwealth citizenship

A personal interview
Pre-joining fitness test
Potential Royal Marines Course (PRMC)
A 3-day course held at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) at Lympstone, Devon, to assess the recruit's suitability for life in the Royal Marines
