Jackal - Brigade Reconnaissance Force

Members of 4 Mechanised Brigade, Brigade Reconnaissance Force (BRF) manoeuver across desert terrain in Jackal patrol vehicles during pre-deployment training in Jordan, 2009. The Brigade Reconnaissance Force concept, already proven by 16 Air Assault Brigade's Pathfinder Platoon and 3 Commando Brigade's BRF, has been adopted by the Brigades deploying to Afghanistan since 2007. These elite cadres of reconnaissance operators, engineers, fire support teams, signallers and other specialists operate as their parent Brigade's eyes and ears across the deployed area of operations.
