Royal Marines with 3 Commando Brigade's Brigade Patrol Troop (BPT) pictured during arctic warfare training in Norway. The Brigade Patrol Troop - part of Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron (SRS), 30 Commando Information Exploitation Group (30 Commando IX) - carries out advance force reconnaissance operations for the brigade. The troop is made up of 4 six-man teams, typically   Reconnaissance Operators and Mountain Leaders.
  The BPT provides thecore component to the Brigade Reconnaissance Force, along with other elements of SRS, 30 Ccommando IX, engineers with 24 Commando Regiment Royal Engineers and fire support teams with 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery.
